When you are dating you must pay attention to the behavior you present to the person you love. If one day you are sensitive and friendly, while the next day you are cold and distant, you’ll show them that you are unstable, that your feelings are not well defined, that perhaps you don’t care about them as much as they thought, and many other things.

You may suddenly present a very cold attitude because when you are dating you don’t want to clearly reveal your feelings to the other person. This is a law for men and women, however you have to show your interest, otherwise they won’t know that you care for them.

Things are really complicated in the beginning, especially if you are not so young. Everything is difficult in your relationships as your age increases, because of your responsibilities and social position.

When you are a teen it’s easy for you to have a girlfriend or boyfriend. Everything is very well justified, and you are free.

When you become an adult, everything is totally different. There are no simplicities. You have to be very careful and pay attention to your behavior and your position in front of the other person, and nothing is as obvious as when you were very young and explanations were not necessary. Everything you do could be interpreted in one way or another…

This is why you had better pay attention to your behavior and understand what impressions you give to the other person, who is still far from you, trying to understand who you are.

Here are a few basic tips that will help you define your behavior:

1. Don’t show indifference when things are getting hot between you. You have to pay attention to what you do and to what the other person is expecting from you at a certain point of your relationship. You are still dating, and this is why they still don’t really know who you are. You have to be sensitive and understand when it is the moment to be somehow indifferent and when you have to be very warm. If you are cold with them when they expect you to be warm, you will have lost the game.

Be a little indifferent only in the beginning, so that you won’t show too much dependence on the other person, but don’t exaggerate. After the initial period, you should not show indifference again.

Introverted psychological types make this mistake very often, because they are afraid of the opposite sex, and they are afraid of being dominated by other people. Many times the indifference they show to the other person makes them feel totally despised, and even ridiculous for imagining that this person could ever care for them.

If you are introverted, learn how to express your feelings, and don’t be afraid of the opposite sex. With your strange and distant reactions you’ll send the person you love away, instead of attracting them as you desire.

2. Too much affection. Of course, you should not exaggerate when you show your affection to the other person, the same way you should not exaggerate when you show them a certain indifference in the beginning. When you are still dating, if you are too affectionate, the other person may feel suffocated, or they may take advantage of your emotional dependence on them, obliging you to get exposed or do things you dislike, only in order to please them.

Be neither indifferent nor too affectionate, unless the situations you are in demand from you one reaction or the other. You have to be connected with the moment, trying to guess what the other person expects from you.

Some times you’ll do exactly what they want you to, because this is what fits better on the occasion, while other times you’ll do the opposite, because this is what will give them the best impression.
