Dating Advice: I’m conservative, what do I wear on a date?
I’m normally a very conservative dresser (think: jackets, blazers, button ups) and I really love my friends, but they say that I come across as uptight by the way that I dress. I’m wanting to dress a little bit sexier for my dates, but I’m having trouble picking out something sexy that still fits with my conservative style. Any ideas on what to wear for a first date?”

First date wear is depending on where you guys are going. There is nothing wrong with being a little conservative but you don’t want to have a blazer on at the movie. There is a time and place for all outfits and its a judgment call. If you are going to a nice place to eat then you break out the jackets and blazers, you can get away wear the button up with some jeans. In order to be relaxed on your date, it starts with you outfit. If you’re going to have fun, dress like you going to have fun. No one wants to feel like they’re at a job interview when they are supposed to be having fun. In the end, don’t worry about the outfit, worry about the person. When you get to a good point in the relationship, no one will care what you are wearing.

There is nothing wrong with being conservative. Sometimes less is more and too many women put it all on the table way too soon. Do you know what your best features are? Play them up. If you have great legs, put on a cute skirt and some heels to show them off. Great arms? Don’t wear sleeves and hide them! Most importantly, dress for your audience/location. Don’t go to a football game in a blazer and button-up, loosen up a little and show off that sexy flirty side. Pair a team jersey with some fitted jeans and some heels. You still are not giving up the farm, but you have switched it up some, are appropriate for the setting and you look great. Be comfortable, but appropriate.
