Tips to Dating: The First Impression
The first date is actually the basic standpoint as to whether you and your date could have the possibility of a future relationship together. Now, while it is NOT the only standpoint, it is still true that “first impressions count.” And so, here are some first date tips that all of us would do well to remember:
First, be yourself. If you are a humorous, then be humorous and don’t try to be someone you are just because you think that your date would prefer it. Your date must find something that he/she is common with you and he/she likes you for it enough for them to actually ask you out for a date.
Next, don’t be afraid to be romantic, but don’t overdo it. If you’re a guy, chivalry would help you, like pulling back her chair and opening doors for her. If you’re the girl, don’t forget to thank him for every little thing he does for you. Smile at your date and make sure that you listen to them talk. Being attentive is one of the most romantic things that you can do for them because it shows that you are interested in getting to know them more.
While we are at the topic of listening, there are certain body language signals that you can do to show them that you are indeed listening. Lean forward a bit while they are talking, nod your head occasionally, smile, and of course, comment if you have something to comment on the topic that they are currently discussing.
